Here, I plan to explore the myths that often cloud our thinking, uncover the truths that dispel them, and I will also share my thoughts on how to navigate these complexities with confidence and purpose.
#1 - EVs Can’t Keep Up on Long Drives
The Myth: EVs are unsuitable for long-distance travel due to their limited range. Critics often claim that drivers will face challenges finding charging stations or experience excessive delays while recharging, particularly on extended trips.
The Truth: Modern EVs are well-equipped for long journeys, with many models offering ranges of 300-400 miles or more on a single charge. Fast-charging networks are expanding rapidly, with many stations capable of providing an 80% charge in just 18 minutes. Additionally, route-planning apps now assist drivers in locating charging stations along their route, making long trips both practical and convenient. My Thoughts: Soon, long-distance travel in EVs will be even more seamless. In just a decade or two, concerns about range & charging will likely be a distant memory & electric road trips will become as commonplace - and enjoyable - as driving a traditional car today.
